The Managed IT Systems Manager is a hands on position whose role is to be responsible for the direction of MetroTech’s IT Service department. This requires managing a team of field technicians, forming and maintaining relationships with software vendors and advancing the technologies used within MetroTech’s client business operations including business computer networks, servers and data protection processes.

Responsibilities
The Managed IT Systems Manager is a pillar to MetroTech’s business operations. Some of the necessary job responsibilities include:
- Serve as the primary point of contact to enable cross-functional teamwork with field technicians
- Develop and maintain the process for managing and tracking all IT assets, including licenses, devices, hardware, and SaaS subscriptions
- Manage the staffing needs of the department, including assistance with hiring, performance review, and career development
- Develop relationships with vendors, negotiating costs and controlling expenditures
- Serve as a lead role in responding to cybersecurity and technical incident issues
Skills and Qualifications
- Leadership experience and/or proven ability to lead projects to completion
- Ability to multi-task, delegate, and prioritize tasks to meet the expectations of MetroTech clients
- Strong written/verbal communication skills and experience maintaining relationships with vendors and clients
- Strong documentation skills; ability to document as you work
- Experience with cybersecurity and compliance/access control documentation a must
- Strong scripting knowledge
- Five (5) or more years’ experience with cloud computing
- Leadership experience in a 24×7 operation supporting physical IT infrastructure (computer, network, storage).
- Advanced network skills including Firewall, TCP/IP, NAS/DAS, CIDR, DNS, VPN, and IP Addressing
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related industry, or 4+ years relevant professional, industry or military experience.

IT Field Technician
We are looking for technically skilled candidates with good problem-solving ability for the position of IT Field Technician. The duties of an IT Field Technician include being a reference point for all IT related queries at the client level, responding to user needs in a timely manner, being on-site at client’s place of business to answer service calls and ensuring the optimal running of all systems, among other technical duties.
MetroTech IT Field Technicians are expected to display excellent customer service skills as they will interact with clients from various industries and executive levels. They are required to listen to the technical needs of the client, understand their problems, and implement solutions to them.
Like many of our Managed IT Jobs, this is an MSP environment. You will be servicing clients as a help desk professional and onsite field technician. Approximately 50% of your time will be outside the office servicing clients. You will have the opportunity to experience a different challenge every day. IT Field Technician Responsibilities
- Installing and configuring hardware and software components to ensure usability.
- Troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
- Ensuring electrical safety standards are met.
- Repairing or replacing damaged hardware.
- Upgrading the entire system to enable compatible software on all computers.
- Installing and upgrading anti-virus software to ensure security at the user level.
- Performing tests and evaluations of new software and hardware.
- Providing support to users and being the first point of contact for error reporting.
- Establishing good relationships with clients and colleagues.
- Conducting daily backup operations.
- Managing technical documentation.
Skills and Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in computer networks and systems maintenance.
- A+, Linux+, or Cisco Certified Network Associate accreditation is a plus.

- Proficient in database programming and software installation.
- Attention to detail.
- Good problem-solving skills.
Education
Associate’s degree in Computer Science or related field or 2+ years with relevant professional, industry or military experience.
